A Journey Through Symbols – Topkapı University

We believe that the symbols on packaging create their own language and leave a lasting impression on the minds of consumers.

Packaging is not only a carrier of a product, but also a transmitter of a message. We believe that just like the material itself, the symbols printed on packaging leave a meaningful trace in the minds of people.

At the gathering we held at Topkapı University, we came together to make these traces more meaningful and sustainable. We explored the historical evolution of packaging symbols, discussed their current impact in the industry, and most importantly, reflected on how we might design the symbols of tomorrow.

Are today’s symbols enough for a sustainable world? Do next-generation consumers only look for a recycling sign, or are they expecting something more? We tried to answer these questions at the intersection of design and knowledge.

We believe the symbols of the future will not just be signs, but calls to action. A symbol is more than a shape, it is a reflection of a lifestyle, a responsibility, and a manifesto for change.

There is still a long way to go, but we believe that together, we can create a more sustainable and more conscious visual language. Because it is not only the products that shape the future, but the meaning they carry.
